Overview

As a Full-Stack Engineer I, I helped build several full-stack web and mobile applications across a handful of industries to be used by hundreds to thousands of users.

The primary stack I worked with in this position was TypeScript, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL/Prisma, and React Native.

In this position I often worked with UI/UX designers, project managers, and clients in an Agile environment to capture necessary requirements and deliver high-quality results in a timely manner. My responsibilities included building user-facing interfaces, fixing/reporting user-submitted bugs, designing RESTful APIs, and integrating with PostgreSQL databases.

This was my first professional full-stack engineering role, and the value and experience it provided me cannot be understated.

I witnessed first-hand the full project life-cycle, from ideation and discovery all the way to launch and post-launch support. I gained a thorough understanding of technologies I had not yet worked with extensively, like TypeScript and PostgreSQL, and received insight on industry best practices and real-world implementations through code reviews and war rooms with senior developers.

Stepping into this role was initially intimidating, as it was my first real, non-personal foray into full-stack development, but as I gained my footing in this position I became much more comfortable with navigating real-world codebases and writing high-quality, convention-following code alongside other developers.
